The Country Willow brings you The Berry Stitch on this week’s Tutorial Tuesday. The tutorial is from Cheryl Frye at Homemade Hats by Cheryl. I love the texture that this stitch brings. Would make a great facecloth with all that texture. Cheryl suggests using this for borders on a baby blanket, trim on sweaters or anything else that you want some texture.
Visit Cheryl and go and learn a new stitch today! Tell her The Country Willow sent you! Until next week, Happy Hooking my friends!
Here we are at week 4 with Crochet Memories and The Country Willlow’s Mystery Lapghan CAL! It has been a fun and learning experience for us all. Thank you all for being here and having fun with this CAL! With that being said, we have a beautiful square this week from Melinda Miller at MoCrochet.
Melinda Miller is a native Texan, USA. She is a self-taught crocheter, and was inspired to learn from her great-grandmother, who crocheted intricate doilies. Melinda’s most recent publications are Storey Publishing’s “Crochet One Skein Wonders – 101 Projects from Crocheters around the World,” and Aller Media’s “Bestemors hage – og 30 andre blomstrende helkletepper” in Norway. She has also participated in several Crochet Clubs where she designed afghan squares, shawls and scarves. She has been designing since 2009, and currently has over 100 patterns available.
What an exquisite square! Thank you to Melinda Miller from MoCrochet for this!!!
I can’t tell you how excited The Country Willow is to bring to you this free crochet pattern Mini Rings Of Change from Frank O’Randle this week! I found Frank’s work while surfing Facebook one day. This piece is truly inspiring and motivational! “This is the first 42 rows of my 111 round Rings of Change pattern. My design philosophy is patterns that never repeat a stitch pattern once it has been used.” Tell me this is not an inspiring piece! If this doesn’t create motivation in crocheting, nothing will!! :- )
So onto week 3 we go. AG Handmades and The Country Willow want you to come show us what you have made. It can be anything as long as it is related to fiber art, for example, embroidery, tatting, crochet, knit etc. If you have made anything, we want to see it!! Join us today for Fibertastic Fun Party! Read more to see how you can show us what you have made.

So, week 2 is over, some beautiful squares were added to the Mystery Lapghan CAL. I have to say, I have never seen some many beautiful color combinations all in one place. All of the participating members of the CAL should be absolutely proud of their accomplishments! Not only are they making these beautiful squares, many of them are learning new techniques and how to read a pattern. How exciting!
I know many have found some of these challenging, but we are so happy that they did not give up on them. WAY TO GO!! Onto the recap!
Square 4 The Borderline Square from Raising Robertson’s Crochet
