Where did my addiction to crochet come from?

I met Dennis in 2008, a year later we decided to blend our families.  With this blend it has caused love, happiness, stress, torture (haha) and a lot of compromise!
In 2010, I was unable to work any longer because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia.  To put things into perspective on this, I have days where I cannot sit, stand or walk. The diseases are debilitating and I feel bad for the kids because they have to help out more.  Much to my surprise, the 3 kids pitch in and also ask what can they can do.  They know how hard it is for me to stand for long periods of time because of my back.  They truly are my Angels.
To start off a little about my family.  I have 2 grown daughters. Amy who is 30 and married to the most amazing man on earth.  She is a teacher and just loves her job, even with the headaches of teaching. My second daughter Nicole who is 28, is a day care teacher and an artist.  Nicole spent 7 years in college and has her Masters in Fine Arts.  Her work is amazing. My step-children live with us full-time.  The woman who gave birth to them lives in TN. I won't get into what I feel like saying about her tho and I also will not call her a mother. They spend a total of 9 weeks with her out of the year.  He choice to leave New York.  So we have Nathan who is 12.  Nathan hates chores, loves reading, swimming, and video game time.  He earns 45 minutes a week of game time on Sundays. Then we have Ethan, he is 11 and the family clown.  He loves to play with his matchbox cars, and swimming. Ethan loves to clean too.  He is constantly finding something to clean. Ok last we have the twins. Shayne and Shelbi are 8 years old and nothing alike.  Shayne loves to follow Nathan and Ethan around. He loves to play with his matchbox cars as well.  He loves the outdoors and swimming. Shelbi...oh poor Shelbi...being the only girl besides me in the household gets the boys so aggravated.  She wants so badly to fit in with them.  They hate it of course lol.  When asked what she wants for Christmas this year her answer was a bow and arrow set and matchbox cars. Amusing I think!!
Now onto why I am addicted to crochet.  It started last year when Nathan came home from school telling me he had learnt to crochet. I had told him my history on crochet, about how my Dad had taught me when I was 10 years old. I crocheted for about a year and never picked it up again. Well Nathan and I went hook and yarn shopping and then it began, my new love for crochet and yes YARN.  I messed around a bit and then I decided to start creating my own patterns. I am not sure why but I love doing dresses and just girly things in general.  I love being able to sit down and just let the creativity flow from a piece of string into an article of clothing or accessory. Crocheting frees my mind of the days stresses.  When I crochet I am in my own little world and at peace.  So why do you crochet?  What motivates you to create?

Sheri.....I have always admired your creativeness....I think you are one of the most awesome designers. You come up with the cutest baby dresses and your top for bigger girls.....and also your hats and gloves. I haven't even gotten into the sewing that you do. I think you are such an amazing person considering the pain that you are in, you just keep going. I am thankful that I got to know you and your work. ♥ Sally
