Stand Alone Top-A Free Crochet Pattern

Stand Alone Summer Top. This patterns is for size 6/8. Made with Triple X-stitches.  The bottom of the bodice has a little flare so it doesn't sit tight against the body. This is a fun and quick project. 

Stand Alone Summer Top

Materials:
Girls size 7/8
Carons Simply Soft
 Size H Hook
Adornment of choice

Stitches Used:
Ch-chain, hdc- half double crochet, dc-double crochet, tr- treble 
crochet, sk-skip, st- stitch, 
Special Stitches;
Triple X-stitch - skip 2 stitch, dc into next st, dc into skipped st. 
forms dc into next skipped st.
Tr triple X Stitch- skip 3 stitches, treble crochet into next st, tr 
crochet into st skipped closest to hook from behind, tr crochet in 
next skipped st from behind. 
Bodice:
Ch 113, Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across. Sl st to join. Ch 3 turn
Row 1
Skip 2 sts, dc in next st, dc in previous st, dc in next sk st, *sk next 2 sts, dc in next st, dc in next sk st*, repeat from * to * last 2 sts, dc into ch 3, dc in sk st, dc in next sk st. Ch 3 (You will now be working in the round)
Row 2-16
Skip 2 sts, dc in next st, dc in previous st, dc in next sk st, *sk next 2 sts, dc in next st, dc in next sk st*, repeat from * to * last 2 sts, dc into ch 3, dc in sk st, dc in next sk st. Ch 3 
Change color
Row 17
Sk 2 sts, *tr into next st, tr in the next st (going behind the first dc), tr in next sk st (also going behind first 2 dc), sk2*, repeat from * to * last 2 sts, tr into ch 3, tr in sk st, tr in next sk st, ch 
3
Row 18
Sk 2 sts, *tr into next st, tr in the next st (going behind the first tr), tr in next sk st (also going behind first 2 tr), sk2*, repeat from * to * last 2 sts, tr into ch 3, tr in sk st, tr in next sk st, ch

Change color
Row 19 (ch 3 will count as dc)
Dc in the first 2 sts, sk 1, (2dc ch 1 2dc- small shell made) in the  next st, sk next st, *dc in the next 3 sts, sk next st, shell, sk next  st * repeat from * to * join to top of ch 3, ch 3

Tr in the first 13 sts, sk 1, (3 tr, ch 1, 3 tc - shell made) in the next st, sk next st, *tr in the next 15 sts, sk next st, shell, sk next st* repeat from * to *, tr in last 14 sts, join to top of ch 3, ch 3

Tr in the first 15 sts, sk 1, (3 tr, ch 1, 3 tr - shell made) in the next st, sk next st, *tr in the next 18 sts, sk next st, shell, sk next st* repeat from * to *, tc in last 16 sts, join to top of ch 3, ch 3

Finish off and weave in ends

Straps…make 2
Ch 7
Dc in each st across
Ch 2 turn
Row 1
Dc in each st across until piece measures 8 inches. Finish off 
weave in ends. Sew straps on measuring in 3 inches from side.
