Crochet Popcorn Wall Hanging - Country Willow Designs
Crochet Popcorn Wall hangings. They are fun to make, look great as a home decor hanging and make an amazing gift! My daughters have many that are macrame, something I have yet to learn, but for now crocheting them will do. I thought I would share this with you all, so you can experience this DIY project and make your own.

So for this pattern you will need;
Bernat Handicrafter Cotton 14 oz. (674 yards)
Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Solid White 1.75 oz. (80 yards)
H Hook
1/2 inch dowel-14 inches long

Stitch Abbreviations:
ch-chain
sc-single crochet
dc-double crochet
sl st-slip stitch
y/o-yarn over
pop-popcorn
sp-space
st-stitch

Special Stitches:
Popcorn (right side rows) 4 dc in the next st, drop loop form your hook, insert the hook from the front of the first dc made and insert hook to the dropped dc, y/o a pull through
 
Popcorn (wrong side rows) 4 dc in the next st, drop loop form your hook, insert the hook from the back of the first dc made and insert hook to the dropped dc, y/o a pull through

Rep rows 2 through 11- one time, then rep rows 2-9 Finish off and weave in ends.

Row 3:
Ch 3 (counts as first dc) of the pop, finish pop st,  ch 1, sk next dc, pop in the next, rep 1 times, turn (3 pop)

Row 4:
Ch 3 (counts as first dc) of the pop, finish pop st,  ch 1, sk next dc, pop in the next, turn (2 pop)

Row 5:
Ch 3 (counts as first dc) of the pop, finish pop st, (1 pop) finish off and weave in end.

Repeat this process Rows 1-5  2 more times at each dc area.
 
For the fringe:

 I cut strips of cotton measuring 24 inches. I wanted semi long fringe. Below is a link on how to add the fringe or tassles.

You can either chain the desired length and glue it to the back of the dowel for hanging or I used a white shoestring and cut it to where I wanted it to hang and hot glued it to the back.
