How to Make a Crochet Christmas Stocking

This pattern is written in American Terminology.
Pattern is Easy
One Size - 6 inches wide by 19 inches long.

Materials:
​1 skein I Love This Yarn – White
1 skein I Love This Yarn – Cranberry
I 9-5.5mm Hook
Tapestry Needle

Stitches:
ch – chain(s)
sc - single crochet
dc – double crochet
fptr – front post treble crochet
sl st – slip stitch
st – stitch(es)
y/o – yarn over
MC – Master Color
CC – Contrasting Color
Sc2tog – single crochet 2 sts together

Band
MC Ch45
Row 1:
Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each additional stitch across.  Turn (42 dc)
Row 2:
Ch 3, (counts as dc here and throughout) dc in the next st and dc in each st across. Turn (42 dc)
 Row 3 - 8:
Ch 3, dc in the next st and dc in each st across. Turn (42 dc)

Christmas Stocking CWD

Stocking Body:
Row 9:
CC – ch 3, dc in the next st and in each st across. Turn (42 dc)
Row 10:
Ch 1, sc 1st st and each st across. Turn (42 sc)
Row 11:
MC – ch 3, *fptr around dc 2 rows below, dc in the next st, rep from * across. Turn (42 sts)
Row 12:
Ch 1, sc 1st st and each st across. Turn (42 sts)
 
Rep rows 9 through 12; 6 more times. Finish off and weave in ends.

Christmas Stocking CWD
Heel:
Count to the right 7 sts, add MC and sc 7 sts, sl st to join, sc in the next 7 sts. Turn (14 sts)
Row 2:
Ch 1 sc in the first st and each st across. Turn (14 sts)
 Row 3:
Ch 1, sc dec over first 2 sts, sc next 10 sts, sc dec last 2 sts. Turn (12 sts)
Row 4:
Ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across. Turn (12sts)
Row 5:
Ch 1, sc dec over the first 2 sts, sc in the next 8 sts, sc dec over the last 2 sts. Turn (10 sts)
Row 6:
Ch 1, sc in the first st and each st across. Turn (10 sts)
Row 7:
Ch 1, sc dec over the first 2 sts, sc in the next 6 sts, sc dec over the last 2 sts. Turn (8 sts)
Row 8:
Ch 1 sc in the first st and each st across. Turn (8sts)
Row 9:
Ch 1, 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next 6 sts, 2 sc in the last st. Turn (10sts)
Row 10:
Ch 1 sc in the first st and each st across. Turn (10sts)
Row 11:
Ch 1, 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next 8 sts, 2 sc in the last st. Turn (12sts)
Row 12:
Ch 1 sc in the first st and each st across. Turn (12sts)
 Row 13:
Ch 1, 2 sc in the first st, sc in the next 10 sts, 2 sc in the last st. Turn (14sts)
Row 14:
Ch 1 sc in the first st and each st across. Turn (14sts)
 
Finish off and weave in ends. Fold right sides together and slip st with tapestry needle to make the heel.

Christmas Stocking CWD

CC - Ch 3, dc first 7 sts, dc2tog dc in the next 28 sts, dc2tog, dc last 6 sts.  (43 sts)

Ch 1, sc in the first 6 sts, sc2tog, sc in the next 26 sts, sc2tog dc last 7 sts. (41 sts)
Row 3:
MC – ch 3, *fptr around dc 2 rows below, dc in the next st, rep from * across.  (41 sts)
Row 4:
Ch 1, sc 1st st and each st across.  (41 sts)
Row 5:
CC – ch 3, dc in the next st and each st across.  (41 sts)
Row 6:
Ch 1, sc 1st st and each st across. (41 sts)
Row 7:
MC - MC – ch 3, *fptr around dc 2 rows below, dc in the next st, rep from * across. (41 sts)
Row 8: ch 1, sc in the first st and in each st around. (41 sts)
Rows 9 through 16; repeat rows 5-8 

​Toe
Row 17:
Ch 1, sc first st and next 3 sts, sc2tog, sc next 4 sts, sc2tog, rep from * around, sc remaining sts.
Row 18:
Ch 1, sc first st and each st around.
Row 19:
Ch 1, sc first st and next 3 sts, sc2tog, *sc next 4 sts, sc2tog, rep from * around, sc remaining sts.
Row 20:
Ch 1 , sc first st and each st around.
Row 21:
Ch 1, sc first st and next st, sc2tog,* sc next 2 sts, sc2tog, rep from * around, sc remaining sts.
Row 22:
Ch 1, sc first st and each st around.
Row 23:
Ch 1, sc first st and next st, sc2tog,* sc next 2 sts, sc2tog, rep from * around, sc remaining sts.
Row 24:
Ch 1, sc first st and each st around.
Row 24:
Ch 1, sc first st and next st, sc2tog,* sc next 2 sts, sc2tog, rep from * around, sc remaining sts.
Row 25:
Ch 1, sc first st and each st around.
Finish off and leave tail approximately 9 inches. Weave end in the circle of stitches left to close tip of toe.
Weave remaining yarn for tightness.
 
For the hanger, ch 25, sc 2nd from the hook and in each ch across. Finish off and weave in ends. Secure to the inside of the band of the stocking.
Ch 50 leaving long tails on both ends to attach pompoms to.

Very pretty stocking! The red stitches remind me of a Winter scene like tree silhouettes.
