Hearts On Sleeve Sweater is sized for 12 Months. I love seeing babies in cream and pink things.  I really hope one day to have a granddaughter so she can share the love I have for this!! 

Hearts On Sleeve Sweater - 12 Months


Materials:
I Love This Yarn (for the body)
Caron’s Simply Soft (for the ruffle)
Size G Hook, darning needle, 3 buttons.
Stitches : sc, dc, tr, X-stitch, Tr X-stitch, shell
Special Stitches:
X-stitch - skip 1 stitch, dc into next st, dc into skipped st (forms an X-stitch)
Tr X-Stitch - skip 2 stitches, treble crochet into next st, tr crochet into st skipped closest
to hook from behind, tr crochet in next skipped st from behind.
Body:
Row 1:
Ch 80, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 8 sts, 3 dc in next ch, (forms corner)* dc in
next 18 st, 3 dc in next ch (forms corner), rep from * 2 more times, dc in last 10 ch. (86
sts) Ch 3 (will count as dc now and throughout) turn
Row 2:
X-stitch in the first 10 sts (makes 5 X-stiches), *3 dc in next st, X stitch in the next 20 sts
(makes 10 X-sttches)*, rep. from * to * 2 more times, 3 dc in the next stitch, X stitch in
remaining (12) sts, ch 3, turn (94 st)
Row 3 :
X-stitch in the first 12 sts (directly above the X-stitches of the previous row), *dc in the
next st, 3 dc in the next st (corner stitch), dc in the next st, X-stitch in the next 20 sts
(makes 10 X-stitches)* Rep from * to * 2 more times, X-st in remaining ( 12) sts, ch 3,
turn (102 sts)
Row 4:
X-stitch in the first 12 sts (makes 6 X-stitches), *3 dc in next st (corner stitch), X-stitch
in the next 24 sts (makes 12 X-stitches)* rep. from * to * 2 more times, 3 dc in next
stitch (corner stitch), X-stitch in remaining ( 14) sts, ch 3, turn (110 sts)
Row 5:
X-stitch in the first 14 sts (makes 7 X-stitches), *dc in the next st, 3 dc in the next stitch
(corner stitch), dc in the next st, dc in the next 24 sts (makes 12 X-stitches)*, rep from *
to * 2 more times, X-stitch in remaining (14) sts. Ch 3, turn (118 sts)
Row 6:
X-stitch in the first 14 sts (makes 7 X-stitches), *3 dc in next st (corner stitch), X-stitch
in the next 28 sts (makes 14 X-stitches)*, rep. from * to * 2 more times, 3 dc in next
stitch (corner stitch), X-stitch in remaining (16) sts, ch 3, turn (126 sts)
Row 7 (creates arm holes):
X-stitch in the first 16 sts, dc in the next 2 sts, ch 5, sk the next 30 sts, dc into the next 2
st, X-stitch in the next 28 sts (14 X-stitches), dc in next 2 st, ch 5, sk 30 sts, dc into next
2 st, X-stitch to end (14), dc in top of turning ch, ch 1, turn (76 sts)
Row 8:
Sc in first st and in each st and ch across to end. Ch 3, turn (76 sts)
Row 9:
*Sk first 2 stitches, tr in next st, tr behind stitch into skipped st tr behind st into 2nd sk
st, (TR X-stitch made), dc in next st*, rep from * to * to end, dc in top of turning ch, ch
3, turn
Row 10-11-12:
Repeat row 9 ch 1, turn
Row 13:
Sc in first st and in each st across, ch 1 turn
Row 14:
Sc in the first 10 sts, *2 sc in the next st, sc in the next 10 sts* rep from * to * until the
end, ch 1, turn
Row 15-16:
Sc in the first st and each stitch across, ch 3 turn
Row 17-18-19-20:
Repeat row 9
Row 21-22:
Sc in each st and in each st across to end
Row 23:
Repeat row 9. Finish off and weave in ends.
Both Arms:
Row 1:
Sl st into 3rd ch under arm, sc in each st across to end, sl st in first sc of round to join, Ch
1 (40 sts)
Row 2:
Sc in the same st as join and in next 4 sts, sc dec (sc2tog),* sc next 5 sts, sc dec (sc2tog),*
rep from * to * 3 more times, sc in last 5 sts, sl st in first sc of round to join, Ch 2 (35
sts)
Row 3:
*Sk 1 st, dc in the next st, dc into sk st*, rep. from * to * to end (17 X-stitches), join with
sl st to top of ch 2, ch 2 (35 sts)
Row 4:
Sk 1st 2 sts, *dc in next st, dc into sk st*, rep. from * to * to end (X-stitch on top of Xstitches
of previous round), join with sl st to top of ch 2, ch 1 (35 sts)
Row 5:
Repeat row 2 (30 sts)
Row 6:
Sk 1st 2 sts, *dc in next st, dc into sk st*, rep. from * to *, dc in last st, join with sl st to
top of ch 2, ch 2 (35 sts)
Row 7:
Sk 1st 2 sts, *dc in next st, dc into sk st*, dc in the next st, rep. from * to *, dc in last st,
join with sl st to top of ch 2, ch 1 (35 sts)
Row 8:
Sc 1st 5 sts, sc dec (sc2tog), *sc next 5 sts, sc dec (sc2tog),* rep from * to * 3 more times,
sc to end, join with sl st to ch 1, Ch 1 (25 sts)
Row 9:
Sc in first st and in each st across, join with sl st to ch 1, Ch 1 (25 sts)
Row 10-
Sc in first st and in each st across, join with sl st to ch 1, ch 3 (25 sts)
Row 11-
*Sk first 2 stitches, tr in next st, tr behind stitch into skipped st tr behind st into 2nd sk
st (TR X-stitch made), dc in next st*, rep from * to * to end, dc in top of turning ch, ch 3,
(25 sts)
Row 12-
Repeat row 11 (25 sts)
Rows 13-14-15-16-17-18-19-20
Sc in first st and in each st across. (25 sts)
Finish off and weave in ends.
Collar:
Row 1:
Sl st to join new color sc in same st, *ch 3, sk 2 sts, sc into next st*. repeat from * to * to
end, sc last st, ch 6 turn ( Button hole made)
Row 2-
Sc into first sc, sc into next ch 3 sp, (dc, tc, dc, sc) all in same ch 3 sp, *(sc, dc, tc, dc, sc)
all into next ch 3 sp, repeat from * to end.
(On row 3 you will see a post made in the previous row. Sl st behind every post.)
Row 3- ch 3, *sl st behind post of previous row, ch 3,* repeat from * to * turn
Row 4:
Repeat row 2...finish off and weave in ends.

To make heart…I used a darning needle, started in a st from underneath in
center of cuff, pulled up the yarn and went up and over 2 sts to the right stitched
to bottom side, moved over 4 sts to the left came up through and went back into
starting st. weaved in ends and finished off.
