Sedruola from Yarn Obsession started to crochet in 2002 and was self taught. Since then she has designed many items and started coaching people on how to become successful in the Crochet Industry.  Let's get to know her more.

Tell us a bit about you:
I'm an enthusiastic crochet designer, mentor, business coach and friend! I've been crocheting for about 12 years and it has been a mainstay since I taught myself after meeting my husband's grandmother. I love to get together with friends and family and I also love quiet alone time. I have spawned two ridiculously amazing humans with the love of my life and everyday we're excited to be making this journey together.

How did you decide on the name for your shop/blog:
When I decided to start my business it was on a whim and I wanted to use a name that had the same abbreviation as a term in crochet so I knew I loved yarn, and obsession was exactly what took hold of me the moment I began crocheting. Then I realized that "YO" is a crochet term (yarn over for the newbies) so it stuck! I love the name because I can vary it in so many ways and it still conveys the same love.

How long has your shop/blog been open and why did you start it:

I think that my business has been truly "open" since 2007. It's gone through a few changes, but overall it's been functioning on one level or another since 2007.

What is your favourite item/s in your shop or on your blog at he moment:

Right now I'm in love with the Caribbean Sail Crochet Top (http://yarnobsession.com/caribbean-sail-crochet-top-pattern-2/)! Whenever I wear it people just love it and I find that it's one of the most comfortable pieces I own and yet it's incredibly stylish. As for my mentoring part I LOVE the Inner Circle (http://yarnobsession.com/inner-circle-coaching/)because it gives me a chance to work closely with some amazing crochet businesses and truly make a difference for them. It's a amazing to watch not only how they grow, but how they share within the group and help each other! It's a true blessing.

Where do you get your inspiration from:
I'm inspired by fashion and they way it makes me feel. When I see something that I think would truly be amazing in crochet I file it away and let it simmer. I'm also inspired by other crochet designers and businesses as I watch them build and grow their businesses I want to reach out to those who are just starting and get them growing and living their dreams too.

What other things do you like to do in your spare time:

I love to read business, inspirational and self development books, watch movies and entertain friends and family. I also love DIY home improvement projects and travel.

What would be the one piece of advice would you give to a person setting up their own shop/blog:

Be patient with yourself as you get started. Get as much information as you can from all the resources available and make sure to do one action step every day that pushes you toward your goal. The race is not to the swift but to the one who is steady and keeps moving toward their dream.
