Fun In The Sun Bonnet-Free Crochet Pattern

Here is a fun and quick baby bonnet for you all.  I loved making this bonnet. I hope you all enjoy this.

“Fun In The Sun Bonnet”
Designed by Sheri Weber/The Country Willow
Materials:
Size H Hook, #3 yarn (Yarn Bee Sweet Delight), darning needle, adornment of
choice.
Stitches:
Sc-single crochet
Dc-double crochet
Dc cluster-
Sl st-slip stitch
Sk-skip stitch
Ch-chain
V-stitch
YO- yarn over
Gauge- 4”x2” = 15 sts X 5 rows
Special Stitches:
Cluster- (uses one st), *YO, insert hook in to the indicated st, YO and pull up a
loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * one more time, YO,
and draw through all 3 loops on your hook.
V-St- (dc, ch 1, dc)
Shell- (4dc, ch 1, 4 dc)
This hat is made in multiples of 6+2
This should measure 12.5” long by 6” high.

Ch 62
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in the next ch and in each ch across, ch 3,turn (61sc)
Dc counts as a stitch from here & throughout and the dc into the turning ch will also count as a dc.
Row 2: sk 2 sts, v-st in the next st,* sk the next 2 sts, v-st in the next st,*repeat from * to *, dc into top of turning chain, ch 3, turn (19 v-sts)
Row 3: cluster into the 1st v-st ,ch 2, cluster into the same v-st, *ch 2, sk 1 v-st, and cluster into the next v-st, ch2, cluster into the same v-st*, *, rep from * to *, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (10 dc-clusters)
Row 4: *v-st into the center of the 2-dc cluster, v-st into the next ch 2 sp*, *repeat from * to * across, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (19 v-sts)
Row 5: cluster into the 1st v-st ,ch 2, cluster into the same v-st, *ch 2, sk 1 v-st, and cluster into the next v-st, ch2, cluster into the same v-st*, *, rep from * to *, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (10 dc-clusters)
Row 6: *v-st into the center of the 2-dc cluster, v-st into the next ch 2 sp*, *repeat from * to * across, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (19 v-sts)
Row 7: cluster into the 1st v-st ,ch 2, cluster into the same v-st, *ch 2, sk 1 v-st, and cluster into the next v-st, ch2, cluster into the same v-st*, *, rep from * to *, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (10 dc-clusters)

Row 10: *v-st into the center of the 2-dc cluster, v-st into the next ch 2 sp*, *repeat from * to * across, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (19 v-sts)
Row 11: cluster into the 1st v-st ,ch 2, cluster into the same v-st, *ch 2, sk 1 v-st, and cluster into the next v-st, ch2, cluster into the same v-st*, *, rep from * to *, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (10 dc-clusters)
Row 12: *v-st into the center of the 2-dc cluster, v-st into the next ch 2 sp*, *repeat from * to * across, dc into top of turning ch, ch 3, turn (19 v-sts)
Row 13: sl st into the first v-st, (ch 3, 3 dc in the same sp, ch 1, 4 dc, forms 1st shell), *shell into next v-st*, repeat from * to * across, dc into top of turning ch (19 shells)
This should measure 12.5” long by 6” high.
Finish off and weave in ends.
Fold in half with the beginning rows and ending rows open. With wrong side out,
sl st in back loops only to form the hat.

For ties: chain desired length for tie, sl st into sc at the bottom of the hat, sc in
each desired ch, sl st to finish off. Tie formed. Repeat for other side.
