Please add to favorites and ques on Ravelry Materials: #4 Worsted Weight Varigated (Approx. 400 yards) Stitch Marker Tapestry Needle J andH Hook 2 Buttons (I used 2 inch) Fiberfill Stitches: Ch-chain St(s)- stitch(es) Dc- double crochet BLO- back loop only Lp(s)-loop(s) Sc-single crochet Sl st- slip stitch Scale St(see special sts) Sc dec- single crochet decrease Sk- skip Special Stitches: Scale Stitch: 5 dc down the post of the previous row, ch 1, 5 dc up the next dc of the previous row. Gauge is not important in this pattern. Ch 3 at beginning of rnd counts as dc throughout Ch 84 join in ring with sl st to the first ch, being careful not to twist ch. Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in the first st and in each st around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (84 dc) Rnd 2: Ch 1, work 5 dc down post of previous rnd. Ch 1, work 5 dc up post of 2nd dc of previous round (scale made). Sk the next 5 dc, * work 5 dc down post of previous rnd. Ch 1, work 5 dc up post of 2nd dc of previous round * repeat from * to * sl st in top of ch 1 (12 scales) Rnd 3: Sl st to the 3rd dc of the missed 5 dc in the previous group. Ch 3, dc in same space as sl st, *dc in next 2 dc, dc between 2 dc of scale st, dc in the next 2 dc, * rep from * to * join with sl st top of ch 3. (84 dc) Rnd 4: Ch 1, do beginning scale st, sk 5 dc, *scale st, sk 5 dc* rep from * to * , sl st to join to top of ch 1. Repeat rows 3 and 4, 12 more times. Rnd 16: Ch 3, dc in the first st and each st around, sl st to top of ch 1. Finish off Head (working in a continuous rnd) you can change colors here. Use smaller hook for head. Rnd 1: Sl st into any dc to join, ch 1, sc in the next st and each st around placing st marker in the last sc of the previous rnd here and throughout. Rnd 2: Sc in the next st and each st around placing st marker in the last sc of the previous rnd. Repeat row 2** 18 more times Rnd 19: Ch 1 turn, sc dec, sc next 37 sts, sc dec leave remaining sts unworked. (35 sts) Rnd 20: Ch 1, turn, sc in the first st and in each st across. (35 sts) Rnd 21: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, rep one more time, sc in the next 27 sts, sc dec, sc dec one more time in the remaining 4 sts.. (31 sts) Rnd 22: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 27 sts, sc dec. in the remaining 2 sts. (29 sts) Rnd 23: Ch 1, turn, sc dec , sc in the next 25 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (27 sts) Rnd 24: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 23 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (25 sts) Rnd 25: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 21 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (23 sts) Rnd 26: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 19 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (21 sts) Rnd 27: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 17 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (19 sts) Rnd 28: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 15 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (17 sts) Rnd 29: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 13 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (15 sts) Rnd 30: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 11 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (13 sts) Rnd 31: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 9 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (11 sts) Rnd 32: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 7sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (9 sts) Rnd 33: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 5 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (7 sts) Rnd 34: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 3 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (5 sts) Rnd 35: Ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc in the next 1 sts, sc dec in the remaining 2 sts. (3sts) Rnd 36: Ch 1, turn, sc dec. Finish off and weave in end. (1 sts) Fold over to close the opening. Stitch along the top sides to close owl head. Sew on 2 buttons. I used 2 inch buttons here. Then fill with stuffing from the bottom opening and stitch to close through BLO. Ears: Using 6 strands of yarn cut about 12 inches long. Then cut them again in half. Attach tufts to the very corner of the owls head using the lark knot method. J'ai fait une copie pour le faire à mon petit fils. Il va l'adorer dans sa fenêtre. Mon petit fils aime les hiboux et ma petite fille les grenouilles. Alors quand je vois des belles choses comme ton crochet et ce que tes mains font avec bien quand je peux les prendre je le fais et je leurs fait en cadeau.Mamie Gâteau.
