Stitch up the sides together to form cover. Add buttons to line up with the loops.
Make 10 small pompoms leaving tail on each one to tie onto pillow cover.
I chose to have my tree on the side, but you can put it wherever you want to. Count over 21 sts, tie one pomp om string around next st, sk 1 st, tie around next st. Finish by tying in a bow. Skip the next 4 sts and repeat above. Repeat across. Skip 4 rows and start the pompom in the centers of the bottom 4 and repeat above 3 times Skip 4 rows and start the pompom in the centers of the bottom 3 and repeat above 2 times Skip 4 rows and start the pompom in the centers of the bottom 2 and add last pompom.
The trunk: In between the middle pompoms add a trunk by stitching over 2 sts and 2 rows, I kept stitching until it was thick enough to resemble a tree trunk. Finish off and weave in ends. ![]()
